Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and receive a warm welcome. Transfer to hotel Royal Tulip or Crown Plaza Soaltee.

Kathmandu is a vibrant blend of spirituality, heritage, and everyday life. If time permits, enjoy a short walk through Thamel, known for handicrafts, cafés, and local markets. Evening at leisure to rest, acclimatize, and prepare for the journey ahead.

After breakfast, begin guided sightseeing:

  • Pashupatinath Temple – one of the holiest Shiva temples
  • Guhyeshwari Temple – sacred Shakti Peeth
  • Budhanilkantha – the reclining Vishnu statue

Return to the hotel for lunch, followed by a detailed pre-yatra briefing covering altitude safety, trek preparation, and equipment guidance.

Early morning transfer for your Himalayan Airlines flight to Lhasa. Arrive at Gonggar Airport (3,570 m) and drive to Lhasa city. Check in at Hotel Manasarovar / Hampton by Hilton for acclimatization.

In the afternoon, visit:

  • Jokhang Temple – the spiritual heart of Tibet
  • Barkhor Bazaar – traditional pilgrim circuit and local market

Return to the hotel for rest.

Morning visit to the majestic Potala Palace, exploring its chapels, murals, and historical chambers.

After lunch, proceed to Sera Monastery, one of Tibet’s great monastic universities. Enjoy a special interactive session with a Buddhist Monk, offering insights into Tibetan philosophy and practice.

Depart for a scenic drive across rivers, mountain passes, and Tibetan countryside to Shigatse.

Visit Tashilunpo Monastery, seat of the Panchen Lama and home to the grand Maitreya Buddha statue.

Check in at Hotel Getsar or similar.

Journey deeper into the Tibetan plateau, passing vast grasslands, rivers, and dramatic high-altitude terrain.

Arrive in Saga, an important transit town for Kailash pilgrims.

Evening at rest for acclimatization. Overnight at hotel Vienna Sanhao or Similar.

Drive toward the sacred Lake Manasarovar, crossing Mayum La Pass (4,800 m) for customs formalities.

Upon arrival, witness the first glimpse of Mount Kailash reflected in the lake’s pristine waters.

Complete about 75% of Lake Manasarovar Parikrama and visit Chiu Gompa if time permits.

Overnight: Tugu Gompa Guest house or Parmarth Ashram or similar

Early morning holy bath and puja at the sacred Lake Manasarovar.

Later, drive to Darchen, the base camp for the Mount Kailash Kora, passing the mystical Lake Rakshastal en route. Check in at Hotel Himalaya or similar.

Optional visit to Austhapath, a revered viewpoint offering a rare and close view of Mount Kailash’s South Face along with Nandi Parvat, believed to be Lord Shiva’s divine attendant.

According to legend, eight great siddhas (Austha Siddhas) meditated here, giving the place its spiritual significance. The site holds deep religious importance and offers a powerful, serene experience for pilgrims before beginning the Kailash Kora. (Additional cost: 500 Yuan per person).

Short drive to Yam Dwar, the ceremonial gateway to Mount Kailash.

Begin trekking through open valleys adorned with prayer flags and shrines.
